This thread is to avoid multiple threads discussing Xenoverse.
Sounds good, I'll post my favorite characters from the games:
Goku, Time Patroller, Cabba, Black Goku, Bardock, and Turles.
Recently I've tried using Adult Gohan and Android 17, they're both pretty fun.
My brother has Xenoverse. I'm not really interested in Dragon Ball video games, but this seems like a good game. If I were to look for a Dragon Ball game for two player mode though, I'd go to Budokai 3 or Budokai Tenkaichi 3. This seems better for story mode, really.
I wonder how Xenoverse 2 is.
Xenoverse 2 is really fun. There are a lot of improvements, but there are some things that they added that kind of suck. Having Super Saiyan maintainable as long as you want is really nice.
What I don't like about Xenoverse 2 is the amount of attribute points you need for ki and stamina vs the amount you need for health and attack.
If you maxed out Ki/Stamina, it's a 60% increase. Ki charge rate remains the same, so the extra bar length is kinda useless if you're a frequent Super Attack user. There's a slight hindrance in having a longer stamina bar, but it's just 25% longer recovery time for 10 bars than 5 when your stamina is broken. Stamina charge time also remains the same.
But, if you max out Health/Damage, it's a sucky ~15-18% increase. And leveling up raises your Health and Attack way more than an individual attribute point would.
5 QQ Bang arrows gives you either 40% more Ki/Stamina or 6% more Health/Attack, which, again, is awful.
Aside from the attribute bunk, the RNG didn't change much. It's still a chore to get new skills sometimes. But the worst thing they did for XV2 was resetting the preset characters you've unlocked every time you make a new character. But hey, at least all your characters share the same bag, I guess.
Xenoverse was fun as shit but I've been skeptical about getting the Xenoverse 2. Is it worth it?
The only thing really worth it are the new characters, if you don't care about new characters then not really. The storyline is mostly the same as the first game.
They have fixed a lot of issues though like the Super Saiyan transformations and Super Saiyan 3 is nice to have for the time patroller.
I wouldn't say the story remained the same. It occasionally involves your XV1 character, and there's an instance where Trunks attempts to save Future Gohan when he shouldn't change that particular point in time.
Aside from that, the gameplay isn't the same either. Back hits are more accurate and aggressive, there's burst dashing, snap vanishing, Z vanishing is 1 bar instead of 2, and hitting someone in the gut with Forward+Light causes an instant stamina break. Plus the combo strings have changed across all characters.
Most of the things you'd do in XV1 won't work in XV2 pretty much.
Just started the DLC Pack 2 stuff today, pretty fun story.
